ACNE
Acne
There are three main types of acne:
Acne vulgaris – the most common form
Acne conglobata – a severe form
Acne rosacea – the form that affects middle age people
Causes
Acne is usually caused by an excess of secreted oils on the skin and keratin blocking the pores as a result of increased testosterone levels. Other causes include vitamin D or iodine deficiency, malnutrition, weak immune system and dehydration. Cosmetics, medication, chemicals, UV and nicotine make up some of the external factors that can trigger acne. The condition is most common in youths going through puberty but can also affect infants and older individuals, particularly those aged 30-50.
Symptoms
Outbreaks of blackheads, whiteheads, nodules and cysts on the face or sometimes on the back, shoulders and chest. The face may be flushed. Severe cases may include scarring caused by deep pustules which can infect the surrounding tissue.
BICOM® Programs to be Used
Hormonal disorder treatment may help rebalance hormone levels to prevent acne. It would be beneficial to detoxify the elimination organs and mucus membranes. Treat/activate lymph and test intestinal flora activity if necessary.
Supplements to take
Vitamin D, B vitamins, iodine
Other therapies
A change in diet to include more water and fruit and vegetables and less fried, fatty, salty and sugary foods can be an effective preventative measure and treatment. Regular exercise will encourage the lymphatic system to remove toxins from the body. An astringent can be used to clear the pores. Taking steps to reduce stress levels will also help to prevent break outs.
Experiences and case studies
One woman was suffering from acne as well as diarrhoea, tooth-ache and trigeminal irritation. After several treatments all her symptoms had improved except acne. Her wedding ring was tested, revealing that she was allergic to gold. After just one week of not wearing gold jewellery, her skin had drastically improved and after three allergy treatment sessions she was able to wear the gold ring with her skin in good condition.
