Face Lifting
Causes
Wrinkles naturally develop with age, due to the skin losing its elasticity, oils and subcutaneous fat. Sometimes skin-ageing can be an indication of an underlying health problem. Sun exposure is another major factor as UV light can break down dermal collagen and elastin. Smoking or being exposed to lots of pollution can speed up the skin ageing process. Physical and emotional stress can have a negative impact on skin health. Studies show that diets containing high animal-product content, including meat and dairy products, contribute towards skin-wrinkling.
Symptoms
Creases and lines in the skin most often form on the face, neck and hands, since these get the most sun exposure. Wrinkles can include both fine lines and deep crevices, which tend to develop in the corners of the eyes and mouth. Some people also develop drooping skin around the eyes and may look constantly tired. The skin may also be dry and have a rougher texture as it loses natural oils over time.

Other therapies
Using moisturisers can help to prevent the skin from drying out and reduce the appearance of fine lines. There are also many over-the-counter lotions and creams designed to help prevent skin ageing. When exposed to the sun, a SPF 30 lotion that protects against both UVA and UVB rays should be used. Other preventative measures include wearing hats and long sleeves and seeking shade. Avoiding or quitting smoking protects the skin from premature ageing. It is also important to consume a balanced, antioxidant-rich diet that contains fruit and vegetables. Some people turn to Botox injections to even out the surface of their skin by filling in wrinkles. Acupuncture has long been used as a wrinkle-reducing technique. Procedures that remove the top layers of skin so that new, smooth skin will grow in its place include laser treatment, chemical peels and dermabrasion. Surgical face lifts can be used to remove excess skin and fat.
Experiences and case studies
One 43-year-old woman was concerned about her tear sacs and tired facial expression. She had bioresonance treatment and after 2 sessions, friends and other people she knew independently told her that she looked refreshed and relaxed and asked her if she had been on holiday.
